I continue to be inspired by the ability of the Jewish people to rise above every difficulty they face. Living in the midst of such tenacious people has taught me much. Clearly, we had an example just this week at the Virginia University tragedy when the Holcaust survivor and Israeli-Jewish Professor Liviu Lebrescu, we are amazed at his heroic act to save his students by blocking the murderer with his body.
Having visited Nazi death camps in Europe, I have seen firsthand Hitler's personal attempt to massacre a people he hated. Knowing many Holocaust survivors, I have come to thank God that these precious ones survived as I considered their contributions to our modern society.
My prayer is that Europe will also echo Israel's resolve "Never Again!" by implementing international laws that strictly enforce a policy against anti-Semitism of any kind, in any form.
Here is a film we made this week that is an on-site filming of Auschwitz death camp with Israelis and Christians, and the memorial service at Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem, Israel 2006-2007. It is a moving tribute to remember the 6 million Jews who perished in the Holocaust as well as the Holocaust survivors who continue to suffer as they relive the horrors of the Nazi era.
